Operation Flashpoint Dragon Rising
A few of us picked up this game when it was on sale.
Anyone else have it? Its pretty fun, but too many buttons
No dedicated servers, but can run Internet servers yourself that seem to work fine.
COOP is very fun doing the campaign with friends. I just tried a deathmatch server and it was cool too.

I'll pick it up next time it's on sale. I played the first one and enjoyed it.
I also picked up last weekend the Joint Operations Gold bundle. The graphics are a bit dated, but it's still fun. I used to play this a lot with my brother on coop mode. If anyone else gets it, let me know and we can try it out.

I have put about 20 or more hours into the game and I like it. Your not gonna spawn and start shooting for the most part though.
The COOP I think is the best part. Start a COOP server and have 3 buddies join you for the campaign via LAN or Internet and have some fun.
You do spend a lot of time walking, running or sneaking around.
I was actually surprised how well it work with me running a server behind a NAT at home. I did not have to play with router ports or anything it just worked.
I do have a hard time as the fire team leader getting bots to do stuff. I need to take some time and figure it out or actually read the instructions
Doc seems to have figured it out though as he took on Jimbo, Step and I on a team deathmatch last night and kicked our butts.
I think he had one other Internet player on his team, but he knows how to get his bot squads to do stuff. Like flank around us.
There are a few different modes of online servers you can start. COOP, team death match, attack and defend, conquest types. Maybe a couple more.
I don't like the attack defend mode too much. It's always hard to defend on just about any shooter I have tried.
Interface can be clunky and there are a lot of buttons As with most all games some bots just do stupid stuff.
I don't think it's a game you might put years into though and I don't think I would have gotten it at $30, but I don't have much of a game budget. Definitely was worth $10 an $5 sale price even if you only played through the campaign once.

Oh, the in game voice seems to suck. It's so low it is mostly impossible to hear.
We used Steam voice chat or we could have used TS. It is one of those games that voice chat really helps.

Yeah Operation Flashpoint DR is so great. Unfortunately it seems like it ist not made for the big lot. Many people are just too stupid maybe. No John, one does NOT run point blank into an enemy machine gun position! What I like most about it is this wide open terrain where you basically pick your way of fighting and your approach yourself. Some other games make you feel like walking through a basement corridor instead. You can also finally put your weapons to the use they're made for. When I see kids in Modern Warfare 2 run around with a sniper rifle on a 200 x 200 meter map, oh dear... Anyway, what I also recommend is to take a look at the Mission Editor that comes with it. It's the original tool the developers used to make the campaign and it's really great. The terrain itself is set but you can add a lot of environment objects, emplaced weapons, fortification and stuff. Requires some knowledge about scripting though, but it's not too hard. Good game for anyone who really wants to get tactical - or just wants to have an M1 Abrahams under his butt
